My Spring Capsule Wardrobe!!

March 15, 2019

Hello beautiful people!! A while back on Instagram, I took a poll to see if anyone would be interested in a post about my spring capsule and I got a lot of great feedback so here we are! I’m so excited to share this with you guys, I seriously can’t even contain myself. So, this is my second time doing a capsule. I did one for Fall/ Winter last year to test the waters and I looovveed it!!

I originally decided to do a capsule wardrobe because 1. I constantly felt like I had nothing to wear even though I had wayyy more clothes than I needed 2. I was becoming a mindless shopper, just buying things here and there that I barely wore thus contributing to #1 and 3. Even though I’ve subscribed to a more simplistic lifestyle (some call it minimalism) for a couple years now, my wardrobe has been the one thing that I always turned a blind eye to… I think that’s the expression at least lol. Anyway, capsule wardrobes kept popping up left and right so I decided to give it a go.

I won’t lie, getting rid of over half of my clothes was HARD and generally I’m the type of person that goes through my things to purge for fun so when I tell you it was hard, I mean it. I truly didn’t realize that I had such an attachment to pieces of fabric lol. And to be transparent, there were a couple times I actually got a little emotional and began to tell myself “Ya know, you don’t have to do this…”. But being someone who strives to separate myself from attachment to things, I quickly reminded myself, “No, you can do hard things”.

If anyone is interested in all the steps I took to purge and build my capsule, please let me know cuz I’d be happy to write a post on how to do it all from start to finish. But at the risk of this post being a mile long, I’m gonna skip to the point. Which is that after I built my Fall/ Winter capsule, I felt like a weight that I didn’t realize I’d been carrying for years was lifted. For the first time in a long time, all my clothes fit in my closet. I actually sold my dresser. I only needed a minute to pick out clothes for the day (I literally just open my closet and start grabbing things) because just about everything went together. And, for the first time ever, I really love EACH AND EVERY piece in my wardrobe. Seriously, there isn’t one thing in there that I feel whatever about.

Ok, I’m going to stop talking now so you can take a look at the pieces in my Spring capsule 😊

High Rise Ripped Jeans (Similar) | Birkenstock’s | Olive Bandana (Similar) | Undershirt | White Peasant Blouse | Blush Sweater (Similar)

And that’s it! I’m so happy with how this capsule came together and I hope it shows that a capsule wardrobe doesn’t have to be made up of just neutral pieces. You can make it fun, make it reflect you! If you’re feeling any of the things I was before I started my capsule, you should really consider giving this a try! But don’t just take it from me, check out some other bloggers and youtubers too. A couple that I’d recommend are Kitty Cotton and Ellie June! Or maybe you’re like me and after like a minute of research, your all in lol. Either way, hopefully this gave you some ideas, whether you have a capsule or not.  Lots of love and thank you for reading!!

xoxo
