Trust the wait. Embrace the uncertainty. Enjoy the beauty of becoming. When nothing is certain, anything is possible.

What a crazy time this year has been! It’s felt like every time we start to get to our feet, the rug is ripped out from under us. And this uncertainty for what the future holds, what our world will look like by this time next year, can be terrifying. Paralyzing, really. Plans have been put on hold, trips have been cancelled, dreams have been moved to the back of the self. So, what do we do? I think this is a time to SLOW DOWN. To find joy in the small details: the rich taste of a cup of coffee, the wind on your skin or the softness of newly washed sheets. Things that are normally overlooked.
It’s also created space for connection. Not physical, of course, but real, genuine emotional connection with other humans. Because we’re all dealing with these hardships. To see so many people helping and supporting each other is such a refreshing sight in the midst of everything. As for those dreams that have been put on hold: I believe this is the time to go after forgotten dreams. Dreams that were tossed out because you knew they’d be extremely hard to go after during normal circumstances. For me, this was the opportunity to enroll in a 300-hour yoga teacher training that wouldn’t have been available if not for quarantine. And lastly friend, it’s a moment for grounding. Like I said before, a chance to slow ourselves down and focus on being present in our lives. It’s so easy to get caught up in overthinking the past and worrying about the future. But a lot of us have a bit more time now to stop what we’re doing, to listen to our bodies and minds and to focus on right here and right now. Meditate, journal, do some yoga or just simply take a moment to close your eyes and take the deepest inhale and exhale you’ve taken all day.
I feel like this was a huge ass reminder that we’re too into our to-do lists, our comfort zones and (I’m just gonna say it… sorry not sorry) ourselves. If you’d like to take a mindful moment to catch your breath, connect with your being and find a little peace, join me in my grounding yoga flow (linked below). I’ve also got a few journal prompts you can download to follow up that yoga with 😊.
If yoga’s not your thing, no worries! Feel free to check in with yourself by filling out the prompts on their own. Let’s find our joy, connection, and peace and, in turn, find our feet firmly planted in the uncertainty knowing that I have you and you have me. All the love and light to you.
